Homebase was established in 2006 as a free hip-hop dance mentorship program for young people, funded by the Regional Arts Fund and presented by NORPA Dance Action. The program skilled young people up in the hip-hop industry and encouraged them to develop their own projects and styles within the local community.
The mentorship, once again funded by Regional Arts Fund for 2008, will evolve into more areas of hip-hop and will see past mentorees assisting in the support of the new young people coming through the program. Homebase 2 will culminate in a performance at the end of the year.
