FAMOUS BLUE CHEESE - A Tribute Show to poet, singer and songwriter Leonard Cohen.

Featuring Emily Lubitz (of the band Tinpan Orange), Abby Dobson, Ngaiire, Yaron Hallis & Monsieur Camembert.
Monsieur Camembert is better known for their exploration of klezmer, gypsy and Hot Club sounds but they only have to go half way to illuminate Leonard Cohen's world-worn lyricism. The band explores the notion by reading Cohen's writings and playing a few voice recordings before putting their own musical muscle to work with the songs. If you can't have Leonard Cohen in the flesh this style of investigation of his work is a very fine substitute without being cloying. The depth of musicianship alone in the seven-piece band makes sure of that.
