NORPA brings the best of Australian performance to the Northern Rivers – and the best of the Northern Rivers to the rest of Australia – and is one of only a handful of regional theatre companies producing original work.
Through NORPA Generator we create new works that premiere locally and tour across the country, telling the stories of our region and community in unique and profound ways.
NORPA exists to provide the people of the Northern Rivers with creative opportunities and experiences, alongside exciting and enjoyable entertainment.
Our target is to raise $100,000 annually through Embrace NORPA
We know from experience and research that box office sales can never fully fund any arts organisation. Our box office income is only about 30% of the total but through strong and effective partnerships as well as ongoing support from state and federal arts funding agencies, NORPA has managed to survive and continue to present season after season of exceptional performances.
Our aspiration is to thrive, and create new works specifically for and of our region. With additional funding through Embrace NORPA we will continue to grow and contribute to the cultural life of the Northern Rivers.
Your Gift
$50,000 – $75,000 will enable NORPA Generator to develop, rehearse and perform an entirely new work.
$20,000 will fund a play commission and artistic residency to develop the work with performers and creative team members.
$5,000 – $10,000 will allow us to present development opportunities for local professional artists, to engage with national leaders in theatre and dance through masterclasses and workshops.
$2,500 – $5,000 will bring in a vital member of a creative team for a Generator project – a set or costume designer, sound artist, multi-media artist, composer, choreographer, director or dramaturg.
$250 will pay for tickets so that a NORPA Youth Ambassador can see all the NORPA productions for a year.
$25 will pay for the student subsidy for two young people to see a NORPA show.
